He is based outside of Philadelphia, and will help Haag better serve its clients in the Northeast, specifically expanding Haag’s commercial and litigation services.”
Benjamin Irwin, P.E., DFE, CXLT, brings 20+ years’ of diverse engineering experience.
  • Experience includes design, installed performance and distressed behavior of structural systems, bridges, building envelopes, foundations, temporary constructions, and modern and legacy building materials
  • Professional experience also has included construction; site engineering; architectural design; geotechnical repair design; safety and compliance evaluations; risk management; construction dispute and accident analysis; mold assessment and remediation; surveying and 3D scanning; building pathology and materials testing; and post-event remediation design, cost estimating, and construction management. 
  • Licensed P.E. in PA, NJ, NY, CT, MA, DE, MD, DC, VA, NC, SC, GA, FL, LA and TX
  • Litigation specialties include construction defects (with emphasis on exterior cladding failures such as stucco), safety evaluations for construction accidents and premises liability incidents
  • Testified as an expert on a wide variety of legal matters, including large/complex matters, such as housing developments, national business chains, high-rise buildings, and commercial complexes.
  • Dual degrees in Civil Engineering and Architecture from Lehigh University
  • Board Certified Senior Member of the National Academy of Forensic Engineers, holding the designation of Diplomate Forensic Engineer
  • Other professional certifications include CXLT (tribometry), LSI (ladders) and CRMI, CCMI, and CMR (mold); Level 1 Thermographer; Aerial Boom and Scissors Lift Operator; & Faro 3D Scanner Operator
  • Professional memberships include the National Council of Structural Engineering Associations (NCSEA); the Structural Engineers Association of Pennsylvania (SEAoP); the Delaware Valley Association of Structural Engineers (DVASE); the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP); ASTM International, where he is an F13 Committee Member; the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE); and the National Academy of Forensic Engineers (NAFE)
