Scott Buckner is a forensic engineer with Haag, a Salas O’Brien Company. Mr. Buckner is a seasoned forensic engineer with 24+ years in structural analysis, product and building design, and failure analysis. His expertise spans the design and construction of both commercial and residential buildings, as well as industrial equipment and products. With advanced skills in computer-aided modeling and construction drawing preparation, Mr. Buckner has conducted extensive investigations into hundreds of structural and building envelope failures. As a forensic engineer, he determines cause and extent of damage in cases involving roof and structural failure, foundation movement, fire damage, wind and flood impacts, and more. He previously served as a design engineer and an adjunct professor at Youngstown State University. He taught “Engineering Mechanics 1” at the College of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.

Mr. Buckner secured a provisional US patent for TEC Rail, a metal roofing and cladding panel mounting system that compensates for thermal movement. He was award the International Grand Prize winner of 2008 PTC/Pro-Engineer Redefining Innovation Design Contest for the entry of the Easy Oars Forward Facing Rowing System. This was published in May 2008 issue of Machine Design magazine and featured in the April 2008 issue of Manufacturing Business Technology magazine.

He earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Youngstown State University, Youngstown, Ohio. He is a licensed professional engineer in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Texas, and Florida. He is a certified infrared thermographer and a Haag Certified Inspector- Residential and Commercial Roofs.
