Michael Burgisser, PE, is a Forensic Engineer with Haag, a Salas O’Brien Company Based in Pensacola, Florida. Mr. Burgisser has more than 18 years of engineering experience including complex structural inspections, rehabilitations, specialty projects and design work. As a Senior Structural Engineer, Mr. Burgisser was responsible for the biannual inspection of suspension bridges, oversaw painting/gusset plate replacement on the Walt Whitman Bridge, conducted suspension bridge cable dehumidification studies, and calculated remaining load capacity after vehicular impact. Mr. Burgisser also previously worked as a Bridge Inspection Team Leader/Design Engineer on bridge projects throughout the northeast, with all major infrastructure and railroad owners (NJDOT, DPRA, PennDOT, NYSDOT, MassDOT, ConnDOT, RIDOT, NYTA, TBTA, PANYNJ, AMTRAK, NJ Transit, Conrail, NFS, Septa, PATCO). He also worked on a post-mergers and acquisitions internal advisory group, whose mission was to foster common ground and form coalitions of skills and services at a former employer.
Mr. Burgisser is a licensed Professional Engineer in 11 states. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil & Environmental Engineering with Structural Focus from Rutgers University. His certifications include National Highway Institute (NHI)–Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges, Inspection and Maintenance of Ancillary Highway Structures, Tunnel Safety Inspection, Stream Stability and Scour, and Fracture Critical Inspection Techniques for Steel Bridges. Mr. Burgisser has completed SPRAT Level 1 Rope Access, OSHA 30 Hour Course, and Confined Space Entry Course.
