Lawson Honeycutt, PE, is a Forensic Engineer with Haag, a Salas O’Brien
Company. Based in Charlotte, Mr. Honeycutt is a forensic and structural
engineer with more than six years of experience evaluating, designing,
and repairing a wide variety of structures. His experience includes forensic
investigations of commercial, residential, municipal, and institutional
buildings, as well as retaining walls, to determine the cause and extent of
reported damage.

Throughout his career, Mr. Honeycutt has assessed damage related to
hail, wind, fire, impact, and overload events; prepared detailed engineering
reports; conducted peer reviews; and participated in construction defect
and litigation-related investigations. He is also experienced in the use of
drones, specialized access equipment, and destructive testing methods
to evaluate structural conditions and building envelope performance.

In addition to his forensic engineering background, Mr. Honeycutt
has extensive structural design experience supporting residential,
commercial, industrial, municipal, and institutional projects. He has
managed projects involving new and existing structures, developed
structural construction documents using Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD,
and provided repair recommendations for existing facilities. Mr. Honeycutt
earned a Master of Civil Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Civil
Engineering from North Carolina State University. He is a licensed
Professional Engineer and an FAA-licensed Part 107 Commercial Drone
Pilot.
