Jeremy VanLeeuwen, PE, is a Forensic Engineer with Haag, a Salas O’Brien Company, based in Kansas City. He brings over 20 years of engineering experience, specializing in complex structural inspections, forensic evaluations, and expert witness services. His expertise includes assessing roof and building envelope performance, structural and component failures, and damage resulting from weather events and construction-related issues.
Mr. VanLeeuwen has provided expert testimony in cases involving structural integrity, building component performance, and damage assessments. His work encompasses evaluations of structural systems, cladding, and other building components. In addition to his technical practice, he has delivered numerous continuing education courses through Haag Education and has presented at industry conferences and claims association meetings.
Before joining Haag, Mr. VanLeeuwen focused on the design, analysis, and evaluation of commercial structures, including foundation and retaining wall systems. His responsibilities included preparing detailed design drawings and specifications for structural components.
He is a licensed Professional Engineer in 10 states and holds an NCEES record. Mr. VanLeeuwen earned a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering with a structural emphasis from Kansas State University. He is an active member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and the Structural Engineering Institute (SEI).
