Haag Technical Services:

LASER SCANNING & 3D DOCUMENTATION

  • 3D Laser Scanning (3DLS) is a technology that uses a laser light to digitally capture an objects exact size and shape, shown in a 3-dimensional representation. The information produced from the laser scanner is known as “point cloud” data. The 3D model or shape of the object is made up of millions of points documenting the entire surface of the object. On average, a scan records one million points every second. Point clouds are highly accurate, precise and measureable points of the surface of the object. Laser scanning is safe, fast, non-destructive and does not interfere with any other work or activities going on near the object. Point cloud data can be imported into multiple software platforms for further analysis and modeling and is viewable without the need for special software.

GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION SYSTEMS

  • Geographic Information System (GIS) is a powerful tool that allows companies to combine large amounts of data from different sources, order them into layers, and visualize the relationships between the datasets. Imagine looking at a map of a newly planned community and being able to overlay roads and traffic patterns, demographic information, spending habits, water sources and areas of drainage problems, topography, flood zones, weather contours (hail/wind/surge), voting habits, and a whole host of information that allows users to make informed decisions based on reliable data.

UNMANNED AIRCRAFT SYSTEMS

Haag Research & Testing:

ICE BALL TESTS

  • Haag’s IBL-7 impacts roofing and other materials with simulated hailstones.

ROOFING DESATURATION ANALYSIS

  • Haag desaturates roofing samples and then examines extracted reinforcements microscopically, if needed, to find fractures or strained regions caused by an impact.

WIND SIMULATOR TESTS

  • Haag's Wind Simulator, capable of generating wind speeds of up to 170 mph, tests the response and resistance of products and materials to wind forces.

R-VALUE INSULATION TESTING

  • Haag’s heat flow meter can measure R-values (or resistance to conductive heat flow) of insulation.

SINGLE-PLY ROOFING ANALYSIS

  • Haag analyzes single-ply roofing samples (PVC, TPO, EPDM, and others) with a microscope and using high intensity light to find fractures.

STEEL BALL TESTS

  • Haag's AccuDrop impacts materials with steel balls in accordance with UL 2218.

LARGE & SMALL MISSILE TESTING

  • Using our IBL-8 and IBL-9, Haag launches small missiles (steel balls) and large missiles (2x4s, ice balls) into building materials to simulate airborne debris impacts. We impact exterior doors, windows, skylights, masonry, siding, etc., to test resistance to airborne debris during high wind events.

WATER COLUMN LEAK TESTING

  • Water column leak testing helps us determine the response and resistance of materials to water intrusion.

Our testing procedures also include Vacuum Uplift Testing, Steel Billet and Rock Impact Tests, Cabinet Qualification Tests, Material Flammability Tests, and many others.
