HCI — THE DAMAGE ASSESSMENT STANDARD SINCE 2007

As we look back on 2017, the world certainly has seen its fair share of natural disasters.  In the US, we were hit with one of the most active hurricane seasons in years.  Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria impacted the US mainland as well as devastated Puerto Rico, and will forever be etched in the memories of those impacted.  Haag has been very involved in each of these disasters and have been busily helping our clients help their customers try to get back to a normal life.  Haag employees have also contributed a significant number of dollars, volunteer hours, and other resources helping friends, neighbors, and loved ones recover.

Haag is also wrapping 2017 up as a year celebrating the 10th anniversary of our Haag Certified Inspector (HCI) program.  Over the course of the last decade, we have trained adjusters, contractors, engineers, and building consultants setting the damage assessment standard for our industry through our one-of-a-kind programs certifying residential roof damage inspectors (HCI-R), commercial roof damage inspectors (HCI-C), and wind damage/building envelope inspectors (HCI-W).  Over the course of the last 10 years, over 16,000 people have completed one or more of our HCI programs and become more capable, efficient, confident, and accurate assessors of different types of property damage.

In 2017, we rolled out an updated “2.0” revision of our flat/low slope roof certification, HCI-Commercial Roofs.  Along with re-organizing updating some of the material and case studies, we updated important building codes and created some very well received group and hands-on projects to enhance the learning in the class. We have listened to our customers over the last 10 years and incorporated some of the changes that were requested, to improve the students experience!

As we look forward to 2018, we have some big news and new/updated HCI products that we are excited to share with the industry!

First, we will be rolling out our newly updated HCI-Residential course for 2018!  Just like the updates in the HCI-C course, we have updated important building codes, re-organized the material in a more efficient way, included a discussion on drone inspections, and included some interesting group projects and now have a photo identification project with some interesting Haag case studies.  The first presentation of HCI-R 2.0 will take place in Phoenix, AZ, January 15-17, 2018!

We will have another very big announcement in April regarding a great enhancement to our HCI program!  Stay tuned!

We are nearing the end of our “Early Bird” special pricing for 2018 classes. I urge you to take advantage before the end of the year. If you are already actively Haag Certified, you can save $250 by using code “TRNEB5” (Haag will verify HCI eligibility).  If you are not yet certified, you can save $200 by using code “EBMGT4” for any 2018 HCI class.  This discount ends 12/31/17.
